ZHUNZE Company Successfully Matched Low Pulsation Peristaltic Pump
The pulsation phenomenon of peristaltic pumps is determined by their principle and is a unique phenomenon of peristaltic pumps. At present, we cannot completely eliminate pulsation, but there are some ways to reduce pulsation. The commonly used methods are as follows:
Firstly, by using the method of complementary displacement of rollers or increasing the number of rollers, both methods actually increase the frequency of pulsation. However, on the same pump head, the amplitude of pulsation does not improve. When the number of rollers increases, the main reason why we see the liquid flow ratio continuing is that the frequency of pulsation becomes faster, just like the same pump head, the higher the speed, the more continuous the liquid flow is. This method can solve some problems to a certain extent, but the effect is average and cannot reach an ideal state, because blindly increasing the speed or increasing the number of rollers will reduce the flow rate. Therefore, the same flow rate requires us to increase the speed, which will affect the service life of the tubing and increase the amplitude of attenuation. Therefore, the disadvantages brought by this method are also obvious.
Secondly, by connecting a pulse damper, the prerequisite for this method to work is to increase the pressure of the liquid at the outlet, making the liquid appear continuous in a pressure holding form. Therefore, the key point is that the outlet diameter needs to be smaller than the working part diameter, and the diameter needs to match the flow rate to generate a certain amount of pressure in order to achieve better results, This approach can also solve certain problems in certain situations to a certain extent, but it also has its own limitations. For example, changes in flow rate or tubings can affect the effectiveness of the pulse dampers we previously configured. In addition, in some situations, pulse dampers are not allowed to be connected to containers such as corrosive liquids, and the materials of pulse dampers are not so diverse, so will limit the application of peristaltic pumps.
Thirdly, by optimizing the structure of the pump head to achieve the effect of reducing pulsation, this technology has been the direction of our company's research and development for several years, and has achieved certain results. Recently, in response to the customer's request, our company has implemented this technology into the product and delivered it in a timely manner with pulsation effects exceeding expectations. The pulsation video of this product can refer to our company's video center pulsation comparison video, which is linked as follows:

The two pump heads in the video use a single channel of 16 # tubing, and the flow is adjusted to 100mL/min (in order to save time, the video turns on speed doubling). We can clearly see the pulsation phenomenon in the video. The right pump head has obvious flow cutoff, while the left pump head has relatively continuous flow. Continuous flow is crucial for some occasions sensitive to pulsation, such as small and uniform spray, Low flow continuous liquid addition, etc.
